About Us
Love Wedding Planning was created by Dorna Love and is based on the North Shore of Massachusetts. Dorna Is a member of Weddings Beautiful Worldwide and has earned the designation Certified Wedding Specialist.
She believes that every bride should have a fun, easy, stress-free wedding planning experience.
You probably have a lot of questions, and that's okay. That's why we've compiled a list of our most asked questions below along with the answers. If there is a question you have, but don't see listed, please contact us and we'll get back to you with an answer as quickly as we can.
What inspired you to become a wedding planner?
I LOVE weddings!
I have loved weddings since I was a little girl playing dress up and planning Barbie and Ken’s “special day". Then one day I happened to see an ad to "Become a Wedding Planner" What? Have a career doing what I love most? How perfect! I signed up for a study at home course designed by the Association of Bridal Consultants and soon received my diploma for completing the Professional Bridal Consultant Program. I also completed the Weddings Beautiful Worldwide course and was awarded the title "Certified Wedding Specialist". And now, with my own business, I get to help brides, grooms, and their families create wonderful and memorable weddings. To be able to sit down with a couple and listen to all their dreams and wishes for their special day and then be able to help them bring their vision of their wedding to life is truly an honor.
Do you have questions about etiquette? We will give you the guidelines. Are you looking for the best place for your reception, or the best cake baker in town? We can refer you to a carefully culled list of skilled and reputable pros. Want to know whose floral arrangements are gorgeous and affordable? We can put you in touch with the best. Having problems with family members – his or yours? We are sympathetic listeners. Tell us your budget and we will help you plan the perfect wedding within those constraints.
We can coordinate the “look” you want in your gown, bridesmaids dresses, mother’s gowns, accessories and for the men in the party as well.
We can help with suggestions for your gift registry or provide an ear for you to discuss and sort through all the “ideas” others have for you.
We are well versed in the traditions of weddings. We know the “rules” – and when to break them.
We will not only handle the many time consuming, stress-inducing details, we'll help make your planning easier and more enjoyable.
We'll make sure the rehearsal is orchestrated properly and that everyone involved knows their role for the ceremony. On your wedding day, we will supervise and coordinate all vendors and assist with any set-up to ensure it is done on time, and provide coordination of your ceremony and reception so everything goes smoothly, Should any issues arise, it is our job to see that they are addressed and handled properly.

Your services look great, but what sets you apart from other wedding planners?
Our personalized, friendly, service sets us apart. Every client is very important to me. We only book a limited number of weddings per year, so we can give you our undivided attention and will always respond to your questions or concerns in a timely manner.
I believe that every wedding should be as unique as the couple themselves and take pride in really getting to know each couple's interests, personalities, and their vision for their special day. This allows me to truly customize your day with personal touches that will make it uniquely yours. We'll help you create a wedding that is custom-tailored to you!
This all sounds great. But it sounds expensive. Will I be able to afford it?
Although a wedding consultant may seem like an unnecessary additional cost, we can actually save you time and money. Ask anyone who has been involved in planning a wedding and they’ll quickly tell you that planning one can be like a full time job. It takes the average bride over 250 hours to plan her wedding. That's over SIX 40 hour work weeks! Yikes! Imagine trying to squeeze that into a busy life along with a full time job, school, and do I dare include a social life?
A wedding consultant is part of your budget, not an extra expense. Those with a restricted budget need a coordinator the most. One of the services provided by Love Wedding Planning is planning the event the bride and groom want while conscientiously keeping within a predetermined budget. We’ll suggest less expensive alternatives that still enhance your wedding.

Will I lose control of my own wedding if I hire Love Wedding Planning to plan it for me?
Never! Your ideas, dreams, and wishes are always our main focus. It is totally YOUR day. We will make recommendations and offer guidance, but all decisions will be yours.
We will work with you, handling as much or as little of your wedding as you want.
You'll benefit the most working with us if you're a bride who wants to create her dream wedding and knows what she wants her special day to look like, but you don't know where to begin planning or you don't have the time, resources, or know-how to make it all happen.
My wedding venue already has an on-site coordinator, why do I need another one?
Having an on-site coordinator at your venue is a huge asset. They have a ton of knowledge of the facility and what works best there. However, their main concern is handling details pertaining to their venue.
At Love Wedding Planning, we act as your advocate, handling all aspects of your wedding on your behalf. Who will make sure your photographer is there to get shots of you getting ready with your family and bridesmaids? Who will make sure your transportation gets you to the ceremony on time? Who will make sure the florist shows up with the right number of bouquets, boutennieres, and corsages? Who will make sure the DJ has the list of songs you want and don't want played? We'll help you plan all the details, and on your wedding day, we will be by your side every step of the way, ensuring all the details are in place just as you imagined. We work for you, and will have your best interests at heart!
I’ve done most of the planning on my own. Why should I have to pay for this if I can get my mother, Maid of Honor or a friend of the family to be my coordinator for free?
Your mother, maid of honor and that friend of the family should be with you enjoying all the special moments on your day, not running around tending to all the details. In reality, they may not feel comfortable or have the time to decorate the venue, deal with problems that may arise, handle vendor issues, etc. When you hire Love Wedding Planning, everything will be more organized and less hectic. We will handle everything that is going on behind the scenes so that you, your family and friends can ALL enjoy your stress free day!
Do you accept commissions?
We DO NOT accept any commission or referral fees from any of the vendors that we recommend. We refer vendors based on their reputation and quality of service. If they offer a referral fee or discount, we pass that savings on to our client.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! Convenient payment plans can be set up based on the length of time between booking us and your actual wedding day.
